Are you familiar with demolition by neglect? It’s an epidemic in Los Angeles - let a building sit empty, let squatters take over, do nothing, and get the building demolished at taxpayer expense when a squatter eventually sets the place on fire.
I'm not an Angeleno. I live in San Diego and I haven't heard of that being an issue here. Has this broader issue of letting squatters burn homes down been openly reported on in L.A.?
Why don't you organize a group to help them clean up so they can afford to keep their place instead of shaming them.

Yes indeed - KTLA and NBCLA have been actively reporting on problem properties in the past couple of weeks.
There was another fire next door on his other property last week. The owner is also is a member of the echo park neighborhood council
