YOU Can Help Fight Blight in Los Angeles!
You - yes, YOU - can push back against the inexcusable neglect of our existing building stock.
Over at The Dusty Archive, Mike Callahan (who is far better versed in public policy than I am) has created a two-part how-to guide for reporting violations.
DEMO BY NEGLECT - Part I of II covers how to file a complaint (certain steps have to be taken or LADBS can’t take action).
DEMO BY NEGLECT - Part II of II covers tracking your complaint after you’ve filed it.

Thank you so much for these posts! I've filed multiple complaints with LADBS against a house across the street from me that is mostly torn down and abandoned by the owner. There's a fence, but whole thing is a massive fire hazard and a car was stolen last year that was parked in front of it. I'm trying to sell my own house, and you can imagine what a nightmare this thing is across from my place. I'm not the only one, I'm sure, so thanks again for walking people through this.
